I have gained some clarification of the RFM23 situation from several of HopeRF's distributors, summarised here:<br />

tl;dr: RFM22/23B will continue to be available but at some point down the line it might require 1000 off MOQ.  RFM69W to be available soon for more features at a lower price point.  Didn't ask about RFM12 although I guess this will be the same deal as the RFM22.<br />

I will certainly be evaluating the RFM69W when it appears.<br />
