It's a simulation of a house with heat losses. It's quite detailed - look carefully and you'll see the rooms cool down (subtly change colour towards blue), the boiler fires followed by the rads turning red as they get hot, the rooms warm up again, then the boiler shuts off and the rads cool off, then the cycle repeats.
The detail varies depending on the controls selected, but the basic cycle is the same - the boiler fires up when heat is needed and shuts down when things are warmed up.
