hmm…
i also have a kind of tape that melts together after a few hours… works this way.:
you measure the length you need and then you peel off the back side and then stretch it to activate. then you put it on thight. i use it for wire joints that needs to be 100% water thight etc
could that be used? it will not "unmelt" under heat… not from this kind of heat anyway
