The interlock is a good idea actually. I experimented with interlocking shapes on my own printer a few months ago and it works remarkably well. It also ensures that you only print small-ish pieces that just assemble together a bit like LEGO.

In practice, thinking about it, interlock may be a way to create boxes that don't need any screws to put together. I'll have to experiment with that.

Regarding the customisation, I'll have to investigate how it works in Thingiverse but I'm sure we can do it.

  me grumpy too,

customs service is operated by monkeys with the thumb up their rear end, and all of them have the common problem in that they dont know what the right and left hand do...

and they certainly dont know what their own track and trace system tells them

basic they say they have gotten my invoice etc and they would handle the solder dispenser today... but track and trace still waits for copy of invoice....

next time when outside EU its UPS only.... they cost more, but they are faster and they handle customs while its underway... even if i order something from malaysia or china i can have it in 2 days... they just bill me for customs later

  F..K danish postal service !!!!!!!!

  Hi,

Sorry I'm a bit tired and grumpy this evening!

In any case a punchout between them would be neat, yes.

    You are right...

but then somehow we need to have a small punchout hole somewhere between the box's

I don't want to make bigger individual piece because they will take longer for *all* uses and will be more prone to printer failure part way through.

Interlocking means that we can have an extra unit when we want it, customised, but basic printing time is kept down.

I bet 5£ that bruno can add the space as a parameter in the OpenSCAD file faster than adding the interlock idea.... thou its a good find....

to allow an easy extension box for batteries / SSR later?
