Ok, just to feed into the initial discussion, where the question was posed


"Wouldn't you get more money selling PV 'leccy back to the grid than it 
would be worth to you as heat? "

The current export tariff for solar PV is 4.77 p/kWh

On the basis of a random selection of energy supplier, fixed rate to Dec 
2015

Gas 4.08p/kWh inc VAT

Of course what we need now is to understand how efficient the conversion 
of Gas kWh, and electric kWh into hot water really is ?

More food for thought, on what is proving to be a very interesting 
discussion.
